artist bio

Jill Torberson, mixed media artist, has turned a lifelong fascination with “garbage” and surplus materials into a unique form of expression. Deconstruction plays a large role in her design concepts. Jill sees interest in the inner workings of the machinery of our lives, be it our household objects, or the heavy equipment used to build our cities and farms. She transforms these objects into smaller pieces, and reconstructs the pieces into objects that focus on form over function.

While in Portland, Jill has studied printmaking, ceramics, mixed media sculpture, as well as metal arts. She is a member of “Cracked Pots”, a select group of artists who focus on using reclaimed materials to create garden art. page 2
